This is my first time listening to Woody Shaw’s music. I salute him. His talent is inspiring. He was, and still is, my hero.

Everything from this site is great, and I think many entries have already put into words what a great person and musician Woody was. Even from the first time I listened to WS I knew there was something different, sensitive, curious and wonderful about this musician.

I've been a long time fan of Woody Shaw. He was lost to us far too soon. His music, a guiding light will be with us forever.

Woody Shaw's body of work left behind distinct clues that point towards extreme clarity and metaphysical genius. Through careful and diligent research one begins uncover these clues in the most inconspicuous locales. It is only then that one can perhaps begin to understand what thought processes inhabit the minds of truly gifted artist. As art attempts to imitate life one can only hope that life is as good as the flickering flame inherent in the musical breadth of Woody Shaw.
W3 carries the torch!
